Hi,
if anyone owns a sysmoBTS and either comes to 35c3 or can easily pass it on: can we use your sysmoBTS for the GSM installation, please? They will get insured by the event, we just need the serial number(s).
I might also ask you personally later this week / at sysmocom office.
Thanks!

I suppose this applies to owners of quad-band sysmoBTS only, as the license for the CCC congress is in the 850 band?

It would be important to indicate the duration during which the devices are required, i.e. when do you need them (latest) and when will you be able to return them.
Regards, Harald
Yes, quad band, and latest during congress time, or if you're not coming on/before 22nd of December in Berlin, or pass it on with someone.
Until end of congress, or 1st of January.
This is not super duper urgent, so no need to go for huge efforts to get the BTS to Leipzig, but it would be nice to have some more to spread around.

I'm wondering what the max possible ERP from the superfemto boards inside the 2050 is, as I understand the freq restriction is with the power stage? One could (as I've done) disconnect the DC from the PA and connect a TX antenna (actually two, in fact)

Hmm. I can bring the 1002 on the 26th.

and take it back on the 30th

Hi Keith,
thanks for your offer! The 2050 seems is tooo big (and powerful). It would be nice if you could bring a sysmo1002.
Best, lynxis
Update: a friendly operator named after a chemical formula has given us 4x 1800 MHz band ARFCNs! Thanks, O2! Thanks to lynxis for managing this!
So we no longer are limited to quad band sysmoBTS.
We have plenty nano3Gs, BTW, but if you'd like to participate, feel free to bring yours along, too.
