I think I could never figure out how to model the session-oriented
properties of USSD on top of SMPP. I might have missed something and
never really investigaed it all the way, but it seemed that SMPP can
only be used for 'single shot' USSD transactions, rether than an USSD
session with multiple messages.
To add to this discussion - one of the reasons we chose SUP over SMPP
is that we're going to export other SS services as well.
