Hi all,
Building osmo-trx from source resolved the issue. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the root cause, but I suspect I had conflicting or outdated versions of some dependencies.
Thanks also to 雪碧 0xroot for emailing with some helpful suggestions off list.
