I found the list of serial/USB adaptators in the menuconfig of the kernel 2.6.27.4. Mine (USB Moschip 7715) is not in the list. I will try another one.

Or get another adapter. All I've tried make the device file so you chances to get a working one are quite high. Time is money, at least at this side of earth.
