This sounds wrong. What does 'which pkg-config' return?
Did you really set PKG_CONFIG, and is the pkg-config binary not in
your
PATH?
root@fuckup ~ # which pkg-config /usr/bin/pkg-config
i think i had set PKG_CONFIG_PATH, since i have no pkg-config under /usr/local/bin/.
