it was never fully supported, like all other RBS2000 / OM2000 devices.
Like support for any BTS model in OpenBSC, it requires an number of people with actual interest in supporting the given device. None of the current developers that I know are working with that device.
So if you have an interest in completing RBS2308 support, please join our development efforts.
