I would have said that's the 'subdir-objects' bug of autoconf, but osmo-bts
doesn't have it enabled...
so I ran 'make test' in my osmo-bts and got no weird dirs.

tests/*/ like '$srcdir' - it seems like those should be evaluated
variable but it's written literally to FS. Do you guys see it as well or
