TCH/H with BB

Hi everyone. I tried to use TCH/H with osmocom-bb (Testing branch) with this configuration on mobile.cfg: ...... ...... codec full-speed codec half-speed prefer ...... ...... no full-speech-v1 no full-speech-v2 half-speech-v1 ...... ...... Trying it over our network (openbsc only with TCH/H timeslots and hr default codecs ) we saw that handsets are still trying TCH/F, is TCH/H supported by bb??? Logical Channels in firmware

Here is a good link on Logical Channels, I am assuming the firmware is capable of decoding some point of entry into network MU. http://gsmfordummies.com/tdma/logical.shtml is there a tutorial in applying patches in both osmocombb mobile or layer23? Is using it as a BTS a key to accessing these RF channels without seeing the normal ARFCN dumps? thanks.

Hello all, I working with osmcombb phone, is there a current list of services needing to be developed for uplink/downlink services or am I assuming the entire architecture is based on a encryption set in GSM network? It would be great to get going on possible direction of either studying the architecture base as messaging service or UART programming side. thank you.

Hi,List. I am studying the TCH AMR codec; I using the first 8 bits of any TCH frame block to decide whether it is a speech frame or a signal; Although it will contain some non-speech frame; but I think it can capture all the speech frame and the captured file can be decoded correctly. is that right?

GSM clock and phones

Hello everybody When launching a local BTS (like with openbts on usrp or similar), one needs to feed the BTS with a precise clock or a reference clock, depending on the hardware. This step is needed because phones need a precise clock from the BTS, otherwise they don't camp. Is that correct? If yes, my question is: how can a phone determine that the clock given by the network is precise enough? I'm a bit confused: how can the phone say that's not good, if it doesn't have a precise clock itself? I tried to search something on google but results got are completely out of scope. Can someone share some link? Thanks to all Dario.
