Hi All.
I am a newbie to OssmocomBB, though I have been reading the mails, never actually got a chance to start working. But after watching the 27C3 video, now I am totally inspired :) The problem I am facing the unavailability of the hardware, the only phone available to me as of now is Motorola C168, Can anyone tell me if it will be compact able with OsmocomBB? I have searched in the mailing list archives but could find an answer :(
Thanks in Advance
Regards

eBay usually has OsmocomBB-compatible phones available as auctions or Buy-It-Now.
Do a search for "motorola (c115,c117,c123,c121,c118,c140,c139,c155,v171)".
Eg:
http://cell-phones.shop.ebay.com/Cell-Phones-Smartphones-/3312/i.html?LH_BIN...
Remove any phones from the list above that you're not interested in (eg GSM850/1900 phones if you're not in North America).

This raises for me a question regarding the frequency bands the phones can operate in:
The same model e.g. C115 operates in europe in the 900/1800 bands and in america in the 850/1900 bands. That means we can not select on the model. Are these the same phones (hardware) and simply the firmware is a little different or are there differences in hardware? If yes, is difference only the input filters which for the sniffing application have/can be removed anyway?
The goal of my question is obviously to know if we can buy phones from america and use with osmocomBB in the europe bands?
Thanks Matthias
