Consider the role of the different software components and include as complete debug output as possible from the relevant parts. In this case that could be the console output from the mobile program, and additionally it would be nice if you attach a pcap file covering your session and nothing but your session, including one successful SMS send and one failed SMS send.
I guess that this may be a network problem, but your console messages and packet capture will explain in detail what happens.
