yet this is very very insignificant, and clearly a bikeshed. […]

What I meant to say is: this function has a specific signature, and I want to avoid changing that and affecting callers, and then get sucked into more cosmetic issues.

I'd appreciate if you agree that this is not grave enough for a -1 CR vote
