I think at least it should be back-ported to 1.9.x creating a 1.9.1 release?

Uhh, I can do that, but I am afraid tagging a patch-release would take me quite some time (I always forget the necessary steps). If possible, I would prefer somebody else with a better experience to do this. I'll create a ticket.
