My magic glass ball that I use to predict where things are going tells me that 1) this will be audible, 2) even linear interpolation between audio samples will still not suffice.

This is basically why I wanted to postpone audio "polishing", because you can spend a lot of time on it to polish it if you actually try to work around _long term_ sample rate drift that is not mean reverting.
