I'm not feeling it -- we have the libfoo.map files showing similar information that is guaranteed to be correct. Commit log summary should show it. The git log is quick to search for the first appearance of a function.

I don't want to sabotage the release process or whine and make your life harder, but I doubt maintaining such lists manually is a good idea.
