I'm not sure I understand the argument for not making a release tag for osmocom-bb. There are no libraries inside osmocom-bb.git, so that should not be a concern? (not counting the vendored libosmocore, as I understand it is only used for static linking and we would of course not make it available in the debian packaging) On the other hand, making a release tag has the clear advantage that one can install the non-firmware programs layer23, virtphy, trxcon, ... from the osmocom:latest repository. This is not only useful for our TTCN3 stuff, but also for users, e.g. if https://osmocom.org/issues/6409 was switched from nightly to latest at some point. Right now this is not possible.
