I'm not sure I understand the argument for not making a release tag for osmocom-bb.
We are neither supporting stable ABIs, etc.
There are no libraries inside osmocom-bb.git, so that should not be a concern? (not
counting the vendored libosmocore, as I understand it is only used for static linking and
we would of course not make it available in the debian packaging)
On the other hand, making a release tag has the clear advantage that one can install the
non-firmware programs layer23, virtphy, trxcon, ... from the osmocom:latest repository.
This is not only useful for our TTCN3 stuff, but also for users, e.g. if
https://osmocom.org/issues/6409 was switched from nightly to latest at some point.
Right now this is not possible. Not only because users would need to add two repositories
but also because all nightly packages conflict with all latest packages:
