PS4: one reason to hold this back is that with this patch, we have deprecation warnings in the osmo-bsc compilation (which annoy e.g. in vim :clist). so maybe best to merge only when osmo-bsc behavior is also fixed -- this affects osmo-bsc.cfg behavior, documentation etc, so not sure when i'll get to submit such, first have other patch series that are more urgent to receive care and merge
