Change subject: gsmtap_util: Use Osmo IO instead of Osmo write queues
......................................................................
Patch Set 8:
File src/core/gsmtap_util.c:
https://gerrit.osmocom.org/c/libosmocore/+/34743/comment/8a07c099_d0014ba2
PS5, Line 478: osmo_iofd_setup(gti, gti->sink_fd, "gsmtap_inst.out", OSMO_IO_FD_MODE_READ_WRITE, &gsmtap_sink_ops, NULL);
> In that case I guess we want to limit somehow the read buffer queue in the kernel to the minimum (even 0) to avoid wasting kb/mb of memory for each gsmtap socket sink with filled message that are never read.
Yeah, might be a good idea, but out of scope for this patch.
@arehbein@sysmocom.de gsmtap_source_add_sink is called in logging_gsmtap.c and also in osmo_pcu and osmo_bts.
In libosmocore/src/vty/logging_vty.c cfg_log_gsmtap calls log_target_create_gsmtap with false, true as last parameters.
That means ofd_wq_mode false and add_sink true.
We should change the ofd_wq_mode parameter to true here, otherwise it doesn't use osmo_io at all. Not sure if we need a VTY parameter for that.
Since add_sink is true the code will call gsmtap_source_add_sink() which creates the sink only if the gsmtap target is local. So simply enabling gsmtap logging to 127.0.0.1 should call the code in question.

Hello Jenkins Builder, fixeria, laforge, pespin,
I'd like you to reexamine a change. Please visit

to look at the new patch set (#5).
The following approvals got outdated and were removed:

Change subject: Add IPv6 support
......................................................................
Add IPv6 support
Implement IPv6 in libgtpnl and the gtp-tunnel testing tool. Allow to
combine:
- GTPA_MS_ADDRESS and GTPA_PEER_ADDR6
- GTPA_MS_ADDR6 and GTPA_PEER_ADDRESS
to specify IPv4-in-IPv6-GTP and IPv6-in-IPv4-GTP in the tunnel
declaration from control plane.
This patch is based on multiple patches from Pablo in OS#6123. I decided
to squash them to directly implement v4-in-v6 and vice versa, instead of
implementing another variant first and then changing it again.

I've verified that there is no regression with ttcn-3 tests from master and this new libgtpnl version, and Pablo's kernel changes.

hmm, looks like shutdown is not really implemented in UDP sockets:
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/60105082/using-shutdown-for-a-udp-socket
In that case I guess we want to limit somehow the read buffer queue in the kernel to the minimum (even 0) to avoid wasting kb/mb of memory for each gsmtap socket sink with filled message that are never read.

it may make sense to look at what shutdown(sink_fd, SHUT_RD) may do to a UDP socket, perhaps it already instructs the kernel to directly discard wathever is received.

Change subject: commands.py: Add support for multiple logical channels.

Patch Set 2:

File pySim/commands.py:
https://gerrit.osmocom.org/c/pysim/+/34846/comment/6e5fcbd2_098448ac
PS2, Line 42: if cla >> 4 in [0x0, 0xA, 0x8]:
I find this a bit difficult to read. Maybe cla & 0xF0 in [0x00, 0x0A, 0x80] is better. Also I am a bit lost here. The positions of the logical channel match ISO/IEC 7816, section 5.1.1 but 0xA0 and 0x80 are proprietary classes that are not encoded as per ISO/IEC 7816? Maybe a spec reference would help?
https://gerrit.osmocom.org/c/pysim/+/34846/comment/0701763c_40903ebc
PS2, Line 93: if not cla:
the caller must decide when to access the cache and when not?
https://gerrit.osmocom.org/c/pysim/+/34846/comment/c4f8e6be_6324b2ab
PS2, Line 526: return self._tp.send_apdu_checksw(self.cla_byte + self.cla4lchan('e0') + '0000%02x%s' % (len(payload)//2, payload))
Does this work? The class is E0 but E0 >> 4 is not in [0x0, 0xA, 0x8] (line 42)
