Help with cable connection from the phone to the SDR.

Hello, I have been wanting to build a TACS base station with Osmocom analog for a while now, and have decided finally to do it! To avoid regulations, I would like to do it over a cabled connection from the phone to the SDR. I have read that some form of load or attenuators are needed to stop the phone and SDR frying themselves. Unfortunately I have little knowledge on this subject, so I wondered if anyone here can tell be what sort of load I need. Any help would be greatly appreciated

osmocom-analog to osmo-cc-sip-endpoint local server help

osmocom-analog is working. osmo-cc-sip-endpoint is installed and working (i think) however, i'm not sure what my sip-endpoint command line should be... Everything is running on the same machine, I just want to connect my AMPS device to my local asterisk server. I have setup a user for the pbx using the phone number baked into the phone. I have a non standard port (ie not default) for my asterisk server. When I try to use command lines I've seen on the lists I just get: sip.c:1783 error : Failed to create SIP stack object I assume it's just because I have incomplete parameters. Can anyone help? I'm so close!

SIP connector for osmocom-analog?

Hello all! I have been enjoying osmocom-analog with my AMPS phones for the last few days and was wondering if there has been any work done for SIP connectivity with analog phones? I see there is 'osmo-sip-connector' software from my searches but as far as I can tell, there is no similar software of osmocom-analog. Thanks, Mike

Osmocom analog RX overflow

Hello all, I have finally given my wired 1g base station setup a try, and it works! (Sort of) To start with, I got these two message spammed on my screen: DSDR ERROR sdr.c:985 SDR RX overflow! And: DSOAPY ERROR soapy.c:573 SDR TX underrun, seems we are too slow. Use lower SDR sample rate. After a while of tinkering, I managed to get the Sample rate down to 96000, this works a lot better (the phone can now connect (sometimes) and receive/place calls). I can’t seem to get either the audio sample rate or the SDR sample rate any lower. (Although I am still very new to RF and probably missed something!) There are still problems, as I am still getting these 2 errors quite frequently and it causes the phone to not connect properly. My setup is: Windows 11 computer running Ubuntu in an emulator with usb pass though (would running it natively be better as the pass through doesn’t work very well?) LimeSDR mini 2.0 Motorola 4800x The terminal command is: tacs -k 23 -k 24 —limesdr-mini -P 6 -s 96000 —sdr-samplerate 96000 Any help at all much appreciated.

What codec is your asterisk server set to use? You may need to play with the allowed codecs on that end. I remember running into that issue before as well however I do not remember how I went about resolving it. I will be able to play around with my setup again later this weekend and I can let you know how I had mine configured. You may want to ensure under your Asterisk SIP Settings tab that you have ulaw, alaw, and gsm codecs enabled/allowed to start with. You may also be able to specify the codec in the sip connector parameters. The last thing I can think to mention is to ensure your SIP traffic is flowing freely to both ends, SIP through firewalls can be a huge pain in the rear end.
