While you mention it.. I myself made the mistake at first:
When creating a branch, make sure you always use 'your_name/something',
never just a branch 'your_name'. Once 'your_name' is a branch,
you can't have branches named 'your_name/foo' anymore,
and that situation may replicate to all our git repositories...
