ok this is confusing, so i changed this to some other value. […]
I'm not entirely convinced. Why would the reader interpret the INS as a status word? The INS is a kind of acknowledgement that is always sent as first instruction. If a reader would not manage to get that right, it would fail everywhere.
I still don't see how this is different from a test (which presumably we have) where we send only a SW1 but no SW2?
