Did you use a version you compiled or the one linked here:

It sounded like you compiled it. If so, please try the attached one again. If your
client software has the added fields to keep insync with the device, it should have no
problem.

With the new firmware failing SIM card is being traced much farther,
however,
in the middle of tracing simtrace disconnects (also using SIM card which
worked with firmware v5 without problems):
