Osmocom Windows binaries not built on up to date code?
Hi, I've just been testing out the latest Windows builds at https://ftp.osmocom.org/binaries/windows/rtl-sdr/, but they do not seem to be up to date. I tested the latest October 18 2026 zip file, and found that rtl_test does not detect the RTL-SDR Blog V4L. But if I compile from source from the Osmocom rtl-sdr GitHub, I get working V4L support for Windows and Linux, so the source is working fine. So it seems that the automatic builds are not working correctly and are using old code to build librtlsdr.dll and possibly everything else? Thank you for bringing this up. I looked at how it works, and indeed there was just an old, unmaintained jenkins job that fetches binaries from this upstream project among others: https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/network:osmocom:mingw:mingw32 As it says there, this was last changed 7 years ago. The jenkins job just repackaged the same binaries every week into a zip file and published them under the current date. I have now removed the jenkins job as it is clearly not useful in its current form, and created https://osmocom.org/issues/6706 in case we may want to bring back and modernize this at some point. Given that nobody else has complained over the last 7 years, it seems nobody is using this though.
