Does this really apply to *any* BTS using osmo-bts? I don't think you can find osmo-bts-trx running […] oh, then that's a bug. I don't really see why some osmo-bts models wouldn't respond to abisip-find. After all, they are all implementing abis-over-ip with the same protocol.
