For the BSC we are using the "GNU Affero General Public License version 3 (or later)"[2] license, this license grants you various rights but also sets some requirements (e.g. as you benefited of the work of others, in case you do improvements you will need to offer the users of the BSC the sourcecode, or publish it at osmocom.org) This means to use the software you don't need to buy anything from the project (you already have a License), we are happy to answer technical questions (e.g not ask how to compile it).
