I would like to be able to simulate a GSM network in order to be able to
develop and test an SMSC in an IP network. However, I don't have any BTS at
the moment, and I don't know if I'll have one later.

It's not I want to learn about GSM, it's just I can't use openBSC itself.
Since openBSC acts like BSC/MSC/HLR (if we have BTS), then it's
theoretically possible to communicate with it (for instance from SMSC).
That's why I asked the previous questions and I'll be pleased if someone
could answer them. Thank you
