Harald Welte gerrit-no-reply at lists.osmocom.orgPatch Set 5: > @Harald: Do we want to deprecate osmo_counter? not that I'm aware of. For sure, they are the oldest type of counter we have in the code, so they are a bit 'legacy'. But indeed, they are the only type of counter that can resemble a 'gauge'. However, none of the values converted by this patch would ever decrement, so a rate_counter gives the user (without any external statsd) the advantage to give an idea abou the current rate vs. the rate last hour/day/week, so I think it is generally a good idea to convert. -- To view, visit https://gerrit.osmocom.org/500 To unsubscribe, visit https://gerrit.osmocom.org/settings Gerrit-MessageType: comment Gerrit-Change-Id: Ie749cebd53a0bb618d0e23d375885712078bf8dd Gerrit-PatchSet: 5 Gerrit-Project: openbsc Gerrit-Branch: master Gerrit-Owner: lynxis lazus <lynxis at fe80.eu> Gerrit-Reviewer: Harald Welte <laforge at gnumonks.org> Gerrit-Reviewer: Holger Freyther <holger at freyther.de> Gerrit-Reviewer: Jenkins Builder Gerrit-Reviewer: lynxis lazus <lynxis at fe80.eu> Gerrit-HasComments: No
