Hi all, why osmocombb need Ti Calypso/Iota/Rita GSM baseband chipset

This is merely a historical archive of years 2008-2021, before the migration to mailman3.

A maintained and still updated list archive can be found at https://lists.osmocom.org/hyperkitty/list/baseband-devel@lists.osmocom.org/.

False. Osmocom-bb doesn't have demodulation or dsp code. It contains dsp
drivers to control the calypso DSP stuff.

See above. All the DSP code, as well as all the dirty details about timing
/ rf path configuration / dsp stuff is completely calypso specific.
If you wanted to support another one, it's possible. But you'd have to
write the equivalent of all the "target" code for your target and it would
talk to the l23 stuff using our l1ctl protocol.
