My head just doesn't function that well at 10am... If it can't be afternoon, then still the later the better. (Currently, 35c3 aftermath and inter-MSC HO are scheduled at 10am and 11am on 27th) Thanks, ~N -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... At the meeting yesterday we've been brainstorming the use of smaller sized plastic cards for the SIM cards in order to reduce both the amount of plastics waste we generate, as well as to reduce the quite significant amount of UPS shipping charges of the cards from Asia to Germany. To give you an idea: 5000 SIM cards with full-size plastic has a net weight of 20 kg. I got a response from the factory: They can produce a half-sized plastic (half the classic ID-000) and also a quarter-sized plastic. I was told they'll send me design templates with detailed mechanical measurements shortly. Please let me know with whom I should be sharing those files. I would expect the factory not want those templates to be published, so I won't be sharing them on this list but only privately with whomever will be working on a related design. Since I have the SIM task I'd appreciate if you forward them to me. I would then redraw them, to have a minimal version with only neccessary information for any design work. Those don't have to be published either, only provided as needed. //Peter From laforge at gnumonks.org Tue Apr 23 13:41:30 2019 From: laforge at gnumonks.org (Harald Welte) Date: Tue, 23 Apr 2019 15:41:30 +0200 Subject: [osmocom-event-orga] SIM card plastic sizes In-Reply-To: <20190419160558.5734.qmail@stuge.se> References: <20190419141345.GK20921@nataraja> <20190419160558.5734.qmail@stuge.se> Message-ID: <20190423134130.GF23563@nataraja> Hi all, On Fri, Apr 19, 2019 at 04:05:57PM +0000, Peter Stuge wrote: > Harald Welte wrote: > > Please let me know with whom I should be sharing those files. Update: I've shared the templates with Peter and Kevin. I'll leave it up to you (the CCC Event GSM team) to decide which size using what kind of graphical design shall be produced.
