So I have word from Daniel and Stefan and am planning together with Jan to use the scarce time left to arrange for renting one of these frame tents as we have become accustomed to. Or has anyone already made arrangements? Are there any hard preferences towards an SG40 (8 meters long) over an SG30 (6 meters long)? The latter would be quite a bit easier to obtain. -- http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/SG-Zelt Do we know anything about the size of the space allocated (which is to be near to the POC, so I was told)? If nobody feels spoken to, I'm asking Peter in particular about his state of knowlegde regarding tent and space. It is my understanding that he will act as a group coordinator. Will you, Peter? ;-) Jochen From 246tnt at gmail.com Fri Jun 7 07:04:53 2013 From: 246tnt at gmail.com (Sylvain Munaut) Date: Fri, 7 Jun 2013 09:04:53 +0200 Subject: Organizing the big tent for OHM2013 In-Reply-To: <51B13041.8080703@gmx.de> References: <51B13041.8080703@gmx.de> Message-ID: > Or has anyone already made arrangements? Then that discussion couldn't have been in the past 2 or 3 weeks, right? > > Are there any hard preferences towards an SG40 (8 meters long) > > over an SG30 (6 meters long)? There is a slightly better chance on a SG50. The space should be sufficient even for that, shouldn't it? Do you think 6 or 8 sets of table-plus-benches will be okay? To me, this sounds more than reasonable for the tent (would go for the SG50) and a little steep for the sets, compared to buying some. We will get them elsewhere. Maybe rather 5 or 6 than 8. Now it's still unclear to me if a SG50 will fit in/on the space allocated. Is there even a space already allocated, perhaps in vicinity of the POC, as it was planned a while ago? I found them on the map and thee does seem to be some free space around, but no idea if/how to book it. @Peter you had some contact with the OHM people as well IIRC ? I've been talking to Peter and according to him, there should be plenty of space even for this larger tent. One thing that still needs to be resolved is the arrival date. There is no point in us arriving with the tent before Peter is there. On the other hand, the tent should already be up and ready when any electronic equipment is to be set up or deployed. To avoid doing setup work during day 1 (Wednesday 31st), the official buildup and setup day (Tuesday 30th) should be devoted solely to getting the already fully deployed network into a running state. Therefore arrival should be not later than Monday morning or better yet during Sunday 28th. Any other thoughts about this? Jochen
