Is there a maximum separation in Mhz for ARFCNs on one BTS?

There shouldn't be any issue, you can have it anywhere you want.

Imagine you had frequency hopping, then the phone would have to hop all
over the band, not only during channel assignment but between _every_
burst it transmits.
