Wy does the MME need a mongodb database?

This is merely a historical archive of years 2008-2021, before the migration to mailman3.

Hi Harald and others,

Basically, MME/SGW/PGW don’t have to connect to the MongoDB server. As such, there is no MongoDB uri in mme/sgw/pgw.conf. See https://github.com/open5gs/nextepc/blob/master/support/config/mme.conf.in

Perhaps, nextepc.conf has the mongodb parameter for developers to use easily. But nextepc architecture don’t want to use DB in mme/sgw/pgw. Only hss/pcrf can connect to database.

Thanks!

Best Regards,
     Sukchan
