Hello Osmofolks,<br>
<br>
Nur Qalbi reported this, and I don't quite know who to bugger with
it:<br>
Building gr-osmosdr seems to fail at the line <br>
<div class="moz-forward-container">
<pre>
find_package(SoapySDR CONFIG)</pre>
in its main CMakeLists.txt:<br>
<pre>CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:168 (find_package):
find_package called with invalid argument "CONFIG"
</pre>
As it works for me, I'd blindly guessing this is because of Ubuntu
12.10 antiquity.<br>
It seems CONFIG is synonymous to NO_MODULE, which is supported by
SWIG 2.8.7; <br>
would any of you try the attached patch?<br>
<br>
Greetings,<br>
Marcus<br>

Dear Nur Qalbi,<br>
<br>
thank you! This is very helpful!<br>
So the point seems to be that the CMake on your PC doesn't seem to
deal with the line <br>
<br>
find_package(SoapySDR CONFIG)<br>
<br>
in gr-osmosdr's CMakeLists.txt. For me, that works beautifully; if
I had to guess this is probably because your CMake is relatively
old, because your Ubuntu is so old.<br>
I'm including the GNU Radio discussion mailing list; maybe someone
there knows how to make this "retro-cmake compatible". <br>
<br>
Greetings,<br>

This script will install Gnu Radio from current GIT
sources<br>
You will require Internet access from the computer on
which this<br>
script runs. You will also require SUDO access. You will
require<br>
approximately 500MB of free disk space to perform the
build.<br>
<br>
This script will, as a side-effect, remove any existing
Gnu Radio<br>
installation that was installed from your Linux
distribution packages.<br>
It must do this to prevent problems due to interference
between<br>
a linux-distribution-installed Gnu Radio/UHD and one
installed from GIT source.<br>
<br>
The whole process may take up to two hours to complete,
depending on the<br>
capabilities of your system.<br>
<br>
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<br>
NOTE: if you run into problems while running this
script, you can re-run it with<br>
the --verbose option to produce lots of diagnostic
output to help debug problems.<br>
This script has been written to anticipate some of the
more common problems one might<br>
encounter building ANY large, complex software package.
But it is not pefect, and<br>
there are certainly some situations it could encounter
that it cannot deal with<br>
gracefully. Altering the system configuration from
something reasonably standard,<br>
removing parts of the filesystem, moving system
libraries around arbitrarily, etc,<br>
it likely cannot cope with. It is just a script. It
isn't intuitive or artificially<br>
intelligent. It tries to make life a little easier for
you, but at the end of the day<br>
if it runs into trouble, a certain amount of knowledge
on your part about<br>
system configuration and idiosyncrasies will inevitably
be necessary.<br>

Whilst both UHD and GNU Radio

Nur Galbi,<br>

I'm a bit confused, because
the subject says "gr-osmosdr

attempt at installing this.
We'll gladly help you get your
system running, but I'm not
completely sure what you want
to have.
<div>
<div><br>
There's also a bit wrong
with the order in which
you try to install GNU
Radio and UHD; UHD has to
be there first, so that
GNU Radio can make use of
it. <br>
First question: what do
you want to achieve?<br>
Next thing: I think there
might be multiple
installations of UHD and
GNU Radio on your machine
now, and this might lead
to problems later. I'd
recommend <br>
<br>
cd gnuradio/build<br>
sudo make uninstall<br>
<br>
then, make absolutely sure
to do<br>
<br>
sudo apt-get remove
gnuradio<br>
sudo apt-get remove
uhd-host libuhd3<br>
<br>
Then, please re-run
build-gnuradio, and copy
& paste the <i>text</i>
from the console to an
email, so that we can find
out what goes wrong.<br>
