DAB+ (and DRM) uses AAC 960 transform (FAAC implements only 1024 transform which is effectively the most commonly used)

DAB+ uses a special framing (gathering AAC AUs in a 120ms superframe), adding a RS code and Firecode.

So yes, it's only the encoder but it's the first time someone has implemented these special features in open source. Free open tools for multiplexing and modulation already exist with CRC mmbtools.

However, nobody has implemented a full and open DAB+ SDR receiver yet. There's a partial receiver https://github.com/andrmuel/gr-dab?source=cr but it doesn't implement audio decoding yet.

Regards

Mathias

Well, that's just the audio codec, but there's the well established
FAAC already... So nothing too exciting.
