One of the "problems" with this is that it's TDD-LTE in - for now - rather obscure bands. The number of devices supporting TDD in B42/43 is relatively limited, as far as I can tell. There is not a single device with support for band 43. And while at least iPhones support band 42, I did miss something, because that is 3400 - 3600 MHz and thus not included in the newly available spectrum. Maybe in a few years there are enough devices available if companies actually start using these frequencies. So long, wir sehen uns in Leipzig Das LOC English Version Dear teams, OCs and lifeforms providing infrastructure, dear GSM, 36C3 is around the corner. Planning has started and - same procedure as every year - we need your support to plan our work on site and the transports to and from the Messe. IMPORTANT NOTE: As last year Halle 4 has to be ?brandlastfrei? (there must not be any flammable material inside). Therefore, there will NOT be any storage space in Halle 4 from 26th to 30th. There are only limited possibilities to work in Halle 4 during the event - all workshops have to be removed, too. There will likely be a small side room as workshop during the event. If you need storage space that you can access during the event, you need to talk to us so that we can find a solution. Everything else will be removed from the halls and brought back on 30th AFTER the event is officially over. Please think twice before bringing stuff you might not need. Therefore, we need the following information: Deliveries: What materials will you bring that we need to store (even if only for a short time)? Do you need storage space during the event? If yes, how much and does it have to be lockable? Do you need anything from the storage in Leipzig or Berlin? Please specify as exactly as possible which pallets you need. Please tell us when you will need those things On site: Do you need forklift transports on site? Will you produce loads of trash, special waste or bulky waste? Will you build something that you want to store? If yes, please contact us as soon as possible to clarify if and how that would be possible Orders: If you need larger amounts of $thing, please add your info to the Bestelliste as soon as possible and contact us - we may be able to support you with it. It still is not 100% clear to me if this is blocked because A) unavailable via the upstream provider for whatever reason or B) a lack of gateway API in osmo-msc (of which B is not a thing) k/ From axilirator at gmail.com Thu Nov 28 15:22:24 2019 From: axilirator at gmail.com (Vadim Yanitskiy) Date: Thu, 28 Nov 2019 22:22:24 +0700 Subject: [osmocom-event-orga] 36c3: GSM base stations wanted Message-ID: Dear all, 36c3 is going to happen soon, and as usually we're planing to setup our own GSM/UMTS network (LTE is to be discussed). While we do have enough UMTS NodeB units, we're looking for heroes who could sacrifice their GSM base stations (preferably sysmoBTS or nanoBTS) for the duration of the congress. Note that we're not considering SDRs (unless somebody with a strong aspiration wants to ensure proper clock distribution, filtering, power amplification, etc). Please let us know 1) how many (and what kind of) units we could borrow from you, 2) can you bring them to Leipzig before the first day, or can you drop them somewhere in Berlin (Sysmocom? AfRa?). Thanks! On behalf of the GSM team, Vadim Yanitskiy.
